By the beginning of August of the MTM training year 2023, more than 3,000 participants worldwide had taken part in an e-learning course, a webinar or a classroom event. The dissemination of MTM trainings stands out in this regard: Last year, over 800 trainings took place in more than 20 countries around the world. This includes trainings in countries such as Malaysia, Finland, Honduras and the Philippines.

TiCon for Windows recently received an update. The established time management software for the MTM application on the Microsoft platform enables the integration of numerous modules such as Ticon Base, TiCon Takt, TiCon EAWS®, TiCon HWD®, TiCon Planungscockpit, TiCon Prokon, TiCon Time Study as well as TiCon Prozessdesign. With the update to version 4.08, the software solution comes with various innovations. They mainly concern the line balancing.
Environment, social and governance, or ESG for short, are important factors for the long-term value creation and risk management of companies, especially in times of constant change. The EAWS International Symposium (EIS), which will be held again this year as part of the MTM SUMMIT 2023, will focus on the S, Social, factor in the manufacturing industry. The fourth meeting of the One-MTM partner network to promote the worldwide dissemination of the MTM method standard recently took place in Zeuthen b. Berlin, at the MTM Institute site. One-MTM partners from Italy, China, Austria, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and the UK participated either in person on site or online via web conference. Their main topic: Flexible training with One-MTM.
MTM on the road. In the second half of the year, the journey of the MTM experts starts at the AutoErg meeting at Schaeffler in Erlangen and ends with the highlight, the MTM SUMMIT on October 18 and 19, 2023 in Hamburg.
More than 70 experts and managers from over 40 companies attended the MTM China Forum for Industrial Engineering at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in early July. Initiated by the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. and organized by MTM (Shanghai) Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd, the event focused on the application of MTM in the planning and design of production systems and best practices in combining MTM with automation and digitization technologies.
The students of the industrial engineering bachelor’s degree program at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences recently had the opportunity to learn about the MTM method standard in detail and to apply the knowledge in practice right away. “MTM for the digital design of efficient and ergonomic work” was the topic of a guest lecture by Dr. Fabian Nöhring, Innovation Manager and Project Manager at Deutsche MTM- Gesellschaft mbH, as part of the lecture “Production Engineering”.
Keeping employees healthy and on the job for the long term. Dr. Steffen Rast, head of the ergonomics department at Deutsche MTM-Gesellschaft mbH, addressed this requirement for today’s work planning in a keynote speech at the meeting of the “Time and Work Management” working group of AWF (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Wirtschaftliche Fertigung). His conclusion: “The ergo traffic light must be set to green.”
MTM China, subsidiary of the German MTM-Gesellschaft mbH and partner in the One-MTM network, hosted the MTM China Forum for Industrial Engineering on July 6, 2023. Olaf Damitz, product planner at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, and Dr. Thomas Finsterbusch, head of the MTM Academy, presented the key performance indicator eHPU as a new industry standard for design evaluation to industrial engineers, time managers and work planners from numerous companies based in China.
The general meeting of the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. will elect a new board this year. Members with Premium status were able to submit proposals for their representation on the MTM Board by May 31 of this year. The following potential candidates for the 2023 board election were reported to the MTM board in due time:
