Digital technologies not only facilitate the design of new work systems. Sensor-based technologies such as motion mining can also be used to examine existing work processes in order to identify weak points and minimize ergonomic stress. The MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. is working together with MotionMiners GmbH on a preliminary study in the field of parcel delivery. The project partners are investigating starting points for an ergonomic evaluation of delivery processes. Dr. Sascha Feldhorst, MotionMiners GmbH, and Prof. Dr. Peter Kuhlang, MTM ASSOCIATION e. V., will present the first results exclusively at the LATC on March 14th and 15th in Mannheim. Their joint presentation in the main program will focus on “The dialectics and magic of ACTUAL and TARGET”. Afterwards, things will get very practical in the theme area. The Lean community is invited to see for themselves how the digital determination of motion data using Motion-Mining®, AI and the application of the MTM method standard for work design interlock: a trio for good work – Motion-Mining®, AI & MTM.
Bridge the gap between ACTUAL and TARGET
“We don’t want to remain abstract, but rather use practical examples to show how we bridge the gap between ACTUAL and TARGET,” emphasized Sascha Feldhorst in a discussion with Dr. Alexander Ruderisch, a member of the LATC organizing team. Peter Kuhlang added that it is not enough to rely solely on ACTUAL data and gut feeling when designing work. Valid data is the be-all and end-all, especially in digital work planning. According to Sascha Feldhorst, artificial intelligence is an aid in this process, in order to be able to deal with the large amounts of data that arise, for example, when generating movement data per Motion-Mining®, and to be able to derive process key figures from it.
