Traditionally, the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. invites MTM instructors from the organization, from the One-MTM partner network and from member companies to the Summer Academy at the beginning of August. The perfect location for intensive work, networking and after-work get-togethers is already a tradition: the MTM Institute in Zeuthen near Berlin. And as befits a summer academy, the focus is on green: the renewal of the Green Card, i.e. the teaching license for MTM instructors.
For the first time, the courses for the renewal of teaching licenses were held as a combination of self-study (module test, test exams), joint exchange on site and via MS Teams, as well as the mandatory online exam. The participants attested the organizers of the Summer Academy a successful concept: MTM Instructor Dr. Thomas Finsterbusch, Head of the MTM Academy, Manuela Ostermeier, Head of MTM Partnerships and Team Leader Digitalization and Internationalization of MTM Training, and MTM Instructor Clara Link.
Uniform training standards form the basis for success at all production sites
Instructors from the One-MTM partner network also took advantage of the invitation to the Summer Academy to renew their teaching licenses and refresh their knowledge of the various MTM process building block systems. Wei Jiang, MTM Instructor and Managing Director of MTM (Shanghai) Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. in China, extended his teaching license for Mercedes-Benz (formerly Daimler) C-Values for another 3 years. Wei Jiang was particularly pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the aspects of a uniform training standard with other MTM experts from the partner network. The fact that the MTM process language is spoken and understood in the same way all over the world is “the basis for helping our customers to be successful at all production sites”.
For Zoltán Dunajcsik, MTM Instructor and President of the Hungarian MTM Association, the Summer Academy is the perfect opportunity to discuss “how to better explain and visualize the MTM method in order to make it more understandable for the training participants”. For example, if no video material is available for an MTM analysis, Playmobil or Lego can be used. “I am happy to meet colleagues from other countries, even from other continents, and get to know their best practices and the way they solve problems,” emphasized the Hungarian contact person in the One-MTM network. Miguel Vera, the new member of the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. team of trainers, attended the Summer Academy for the first time.
BMW SD training instructors from the One Partner Network advise on new module tests
The Summer Academy also included a special round: the BMW instructors from MTM ASSOCIATION e. V., Deutsche MTM-Gesellschaft mbH, MTM (Shanghai) Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. and MTM Hungária Egyesület exchanged views on the training courses held in 2023 and 2024 and the digital training documents used. The refresher course for the BMW licenses was led by Philipp Wolf from BMW Group – thank you once again for this. Other topics included the development of new training documents (e.g. module tests for BMW Group SD multipurpose training), the translation of data cards and exams into other languages (e.g. Spanish, Chinese, Hungarian) and the joint further development of e-learning offerings.
Good news for those taking an e-learning format: starting in 2025, it will be possible to book a voluntary, free consultation appointment before starting the online exam.
