Companies have high expectations for the work of engineers at the interfaces of product development, process planning, and production. However, young professionals often lack the necessary understanding of planning, knowledge of methods and the ability to think in a networked and holistic manner. The courses offered by the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. and the Deutsche MTM-Gesellschaft mbH help to close this gap. The most recent example is the “Production Technology” series of courses offered by the Department of Technical Business Management at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.
Training
Around 6,000 certificates for successfully completed MTM training were issued again in 2023 via the international partner network One-MTM. The number of certificates issued by the MTM Academy in Germany remained at the high level of 2021.
In 2024, the MTM Academy is expanding its range of online learning groups (in German). After MTM-UAS®, MTM-SD® and EAWS®, it is now also possible to get support in the application of the MTM-1® and MTM-MEK® process building block systems.
The MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. offers worldwide standardized, certified MTM trainings, coaching on the job and workshops. This is based on the Training and Examination Regulations (APO). At its last meeting, the MTM Examination Board approved the APO for the training year 2024 and with it some innovations. The MTM-OS (Office System) will then also be on the Blue and Green Card.
In January 2019, the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. launched its first e-learning: the German-language MTM-1® Base training course. In October 2023, two “milestones” were reached almost simultaneously: the 1,000th MTM-1® Base e-learning in German and the 1,500th MTM-1® Base e-learning in the languages now available. MTM E-Learning – a success story!
By the beginning of August of the MTM training year 2023, more than 3,000 participants worldwide had taken part in an e-learning course, a webinar or a classroom event. The dissemination of MTM trainings stands out in this regard: Last year, over 800 trainings took place in more than 20 countries around the world. This includes trainings in countries such as Malaysia, Finland, Honduras and the Philippines.
Anyone who has recently taken part in training on the MTM-UAS® process module system has already been able to benefit from the integration of the new cloud-based software solution TiCon for Web into the training. As of April 15, the motto for further training courses will be: TiCon for Web inside! This applies to MTM-LOG® (logistics), MTM-VI (visual inspection) and MTM-MEK®.
The new learning group on the MTM-UAS® process module system started on March 3 this year. The MTM Academy’s offering is aimed at all MTM training graduates who wish to further their education to become MTM or EAWS practitioners or improve their knowledge and practical skills in applying the process building block systems.
“The Future of Work” will be the focus of the 3rd International E-MAS Conference starting on February 27, 2023 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. as co-organizer of the 3rd E-MAS Conference is also represented in the multi-day lecture program.
The One-MTM partner network is celebrating its 3rd birthday these days – and has every reason to celebrate. Because it is making great strides. More than 1,600 of the certificates issued by the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. last year came via One-MTM.
