The globally valid standard for evaluating &#8222;engineered hours per vehicle&#8220; developed by the vehicle disassembly working group in the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) measures the construction-related work content of a vehicle during vehicle assembly. eHPV is a reproducible and comparable metric and can therefore be used as a benchmark for product design and engineering times. As part of the production time &#8222;hours per vehicle&#8220; (HPV according to Harbour), the benchmark value eHPV is also a target value for the new product planning of many automotive companies. With the help of the eHPV evaluation, the design features of the components are described and visualized in addition to the design-related assembly effort.<\/p><p>But what about outside the automotive industry? Can the benchmark value used in vehicle construction also be used as a cross-industry indicator in production?<\/p><p>Olaf Damitz, product planner at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, and Dr. Thomas Finsterbusch, head of the MTM Academy, say yes and start the new online meetup series of the MTM ASSOCIATION e.
